Tonight, a handful of liberty-loving South Carolinians gathered at The Village Tavern in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina to discuss independence. People from several different liberty/independence groups were there and we had a good time. Thanks to John for hosting us and thanks to everyone who came! We’ll have another event coming up soon.
Check out this video recorded just after the meeting with Tom, John and myself.
Today, Tom (the Chairman of Third Palmetto Republic) and I got together at a place where the South Carolina struggle independence more or less began: Fort Moultrie. Above the fort, the first time I have ever seen it there, flew the flag of independence and resistance that our Colonial ancestors raised in their fight for independence. The streets going to the fort on Sullivan’s Island were lined on one side with SC State flags and Ft Moultrie flags and on the other side with the flag of the US Empire, unfortunately. Despite the presence of the imperial flag on our island, there is also a lot of SC patriotism and pride that is obvious to any visitor. Tom and I recorded some video footage which we’ll get out very soon (likely tonight) and marveled at the nerve of our South Carolina ancestors and Founders who took on the mightiest empire in the world at that time (the UK) and against over-whelming odds to prevail and make the Palmetto State a free republic in the world. Unfortunately, our ancestors then confederated together with the other newly freed American republics and a government which was to grow into the monster of today was born. Our ancestors of course had no way to know that less than a hundred years after they formed this new government its military forces would invade South Carolina, burn her cities and towns to the ground and violently and tyrannically put down an attempt at secession (based upon the unanimous vote of the people of SC assembled in convention). Such is the past though. Today, we were inspired by the visit to Ft Moultrie and this renewed our confidence and commitment in the struggle to free South Carolina!
Tom, the Chairman of the Third Palmetto Republic, Harold, a leader in the secessionist movement in North Carolina, and Michael, webmaster of SLMNews, here discuss real money, the Federal Reserve and the future medium of exchange in a free South Carolina or other secessionist State outside of the United States.
How does sound money strike you? Wouldn’t you like more freedom? How about a smaller, more local government? Wouldn’t you prefer to pay less taxes? Fewer regulations would surely make your life easier, right? If you’re nodding your head in agreement you should join us. We are Third Palmetto Republic and our goal is liberty and independence here in South Carolina. We have an upcoming rally for this cause in Mt Pleasant, SC on 3 July 2010 at 10 AM. Come out and take a patriot’s stand with fellow liberty loving South Carolinians!

Tom, Harold and I got together tonight and talked at length about US imperialism and the defense of a free Southron State. This was a great conversation and I hope y’all enjoy it. Thanks especially to Harold for joining the conversation! All of y’all are invited to join us next Sunday at 8 pm EST to talk about secession and liberty.
